      ELMIRA, Jan 17 - Mrs. Alice Goodwin, 75, formerly of Elmira, died yesterday at Hamilton after a lengthy illness. She was the widow of Gilllis Goodwin who died in 1913 near Glen Allan. She had been a resident of Glen Alan until her husband's death when she moved to Elmira. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Franklin of near Glen Allan and was a former member of Wesley United Church, Elmira.

      Surviving are eight sons: Allen, Kitchener; William, Elmira; Fred, Waterloo; Harlie, Heidelberg; Clayton, Kitchener; Loman, Heidelberg; Ernie, Waterloo; and Irvin, Winterbourne; and one daughter, Mrs. Fred Fries of Bridgeport. One daughter predeceased her in 1947. She also is survived by three sisters, Mrs. John Klein, and Mrs. Herb Mawhinney, Elmira, and Mrs. Walter Fleet, Palmerston, and five brothers, James Franklin, Palmerston; John of Clifford; William, Elmira; Robert, Glen Allen, and Loman, Bridgeport. There are 58 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. The body is resting at the Dreisinger Funeral Chapel where the funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 pm, Rev. W.M.B. Metcalfe will officiate. Interment will be made in the Elmira Cemetery.1a
