    • Mrs. Elizabeth Griffin Passes - Mrs. Elizabeth Griffin, Ayr, passed away Sunday evening in Coutts Pavilion, Freeport, following an illness of some two months. She was 86. Born in Blackburn, County of Lancaster in England, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Fawcett. In 1907 she married Henry Griffin, and following their marriage the couple came to Canada, settling in Ayr. In 1921 they purchased the present Griffin residence on the top of the Swan Street hill. Mrs. Griffin was predeceased in 1958 by her husband, who was a former reeve of Ayr and twice warden of Waterloo County. Mrs. Griffin was a member of the former Methodist Church in Ayr. Surviving is one son, Harry, who is the clerk of the village of Ayr. Funeral service was held today (Wed.) from the W. O. Ball Funeral Home, Ayr. Interment in Ayr Cemetery.
