- MATILDA LORCH WESTFALL
A Kind, Loving Mother Dead Mrs. John H. Westfall died on Saturday
A very sad death occurred in Elmira on Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock, Feb. 21, inst. when Matilda Lorch, beloved wife of Mr. John H. Westall, died after a brief illness. Mr. and Mrs. Westfall were married nine years ago, on November 3, 1910, Mrs. Westfall at the time of her death 31 years, 5 months and 9 days of age. Besides the grief-stricken husband, a daughter of seven and a little boy of two years of age mourn a loving mother's death. Mrs. Westfall was an industrious woman and a true helpmate. She was well liked by all who knew her as a kind neighbour and a good friend. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert lorch. Her parents, three brothers and four sisters survive. The names of her brothers and sisters are: Henry, of Wallace Tp., and Charles and Walter at home; Mary (Mrs. Alvin Dreisinger) of Elmira; Carrie (Mrs. Emerson Esch) and the Misses Edith and Emma, all of Kitchener. Her funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon at 12 o'clock, from her husband's home to St. James Church where services were held, and from thence she was conveyed to the St. James Lutheran Cemetery for burial Rev. John Strempfer conducted the services. The esteem in which Mrs. Westfall was held was evidenced by the number of relatives and friends who visited the house or attended the funeral to pay their last respects. Beloved in life, Mrs. Westfall is sincerely mourned in death. The public of Elmira and district extend to those left behind a full measure of sympathy over their heavy loss.1a
