    • HOFFER, Eldon G. - We are sad to announce the death of Eldon George Hoffer, on Monday, Feb. 15, 1982, at his residence, 11 Brubacher St., Elmira. Beloved husband of Louise Ruggle and most wonderful dad of Charles, Luke and Amy, all at home; brother of Hilbert of Elmira, Mrs. Lorne (Reta) Schaub of RR 1, Waterloo and Mrs. Jack (Grace) Sumner of Wasaga Beach. Predecease by one brother, Russell. He served his country overseas in the Highland Light Infantry of Canada. After his return from overseas he was associated with Hoffer's Bakery until 1961, when he became the Elmira Motor Vehicle Licence issuer; he was on the executive of the Ontario Motor Vehicle Licence Issuers Association; he served on town council for eight years and was secretary treasurer of Elmira Maple Syrup Festival for 17 years; he was Sunday school superintendent, teacher and choir member of the former Evangelical United Brethren Church of Elmira for many years. Friends may call at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until Wednesday noon, when removal will be made to the Trinity United Church, for funeral service at 2 p.m. Rev. David Watson will officiate. Burial in Elmira Union cemetery.1a
