    William Kenney Resided in Elmira Eight Years; Born in Listowel District

    William Kenney, fatally injured es the result of being struck by a C.N.R. train near the Hawkesville crossing, Friday, was laid to rest in the Elmira cemetery Tuesday. Rev. F. MacAvoy of Gale Presbyterian church officiated.

    A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Kenney of near Listowel, the deceased was born September 8. 1865. He spent his boyhood days in the Listowel district and then moved to a farm near Glenallan. On December 20, 1904, he married Miss Ida Cobber of near Listowel, and about eight years ago moved into Elmira where he has since resided.

    In addition to his widow he is survived by three daughters and one son: Mrs. C. Koopman, Waterloo; Mrs. Morris Brubacher, Elmira; Florence and Clarence, Elmira. Three sisters and one brother also survive. They are: .Mrs. R. Johnston, QuAppelle, Sask; Mrs. H. Thompson, Eden, Man.; Mrs. W. Anderson, Chicago, and R. Kenney of Listowel.

    Funeral at Hespeler, A Pioneer of Puslinch Gone to His Rest

    The funeral took place Tuesday, October 11, 1905. His death occurred on Saturday night, October 8th, after a short illness, at the advanced age of 82 years, 9 months and 23 days. Rev. E. S. Moyer, assisted by Rev. C. W. Cook, conducted the burial services, at the conclusion of which, a memorial service was held in the Evangelical Church. The pallbearers were Samuel and Elias Panabaker, Elijah Eagle, Capel Reeve, A. McAllister and Ben Chester, all old friends. Mr. Cober was a native of York County but had lived in Puslinch for about half a century, removing to Hespeler about a year ago. He was widely known in this locality, one of the leading and most successful farmers of the vicinity and was held in high esteem by all who knew him. His wife and four children survive: Noah in Grey County; Mrs. John Goudie of Brown City, Michigan; Jeremiah of Hespeler; and Mary, at home.

    COBER, MAGDALENA (nee Fischer)

    One of the town's oldest citizens, on February 3, 1920, at the ripe old age of 97 years. Wife of the late Nicholas P. Cober. She was born in Holland but had been a resident of the Hespeler area for many years. She was of a very quiet disposition. Mrs. Cober had many friends, as well as the following children: Mrs. John Goudie of Michigan; Miss Mary and Jerry, both of Hespeler. The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon.

    David Strome, "was born April 28th, 1817. He was married to Catherine Sararas. They resided about three miles east of Hespeler where he was engaged in farming. Here he died September 21st, 1875. She is still living (January 12th, 1895) and enjoying good health. They had a family of eight children
