DETWEILER, Catherine M. (Mrs. Carl) - On Wednesday, Sept. 30, 1992, at K-W Hospital, Catherine M. Detweiler, in her 91st year, of Elmira. Beloved wife of the late Carl A. Detweiler (1987). Dear mother of Robert and Barb of Elmira, Carl and Jan of Conestogo Lake, Katherine and William Lotrijan of Kitchener. Fondly remembered by her eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Sister of Mrs. Thelma Carter of Wasaga Beach. Predeceased by her parents, William and Prudence Manning; one son, Roscoe in infancy; one sister and one brother. Visitation at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, after 2 p.m. Thursday, where the family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, Oct. 2 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Donald Stroh officiating, followed by interment in St. James Lutheran Cemetery.

W. A. Manning - Following a lengthy illness, William A. Manning, 69, of 41 Guelph St., Bridgeport, died today at St. Mary's Hospital. Born in Simcoe County, May 13, 1883, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Manning. His marriage to Marie Weidenhammer, who survives, took place in Elmira, June 10, 1918. Surviving are two sons, Donald and Harry of Bridgeport; three daughters, Mrs. Carl (Kay) Detweller of Elmira, Mrs. Joseph (Audrey) Loesch of Toronto and Mrs. Douglas (Eileen) Malott, of French River, Ont.; one sister, Mrs. Robert Ritchie, Elmvalle, and seven grandchildren. Public funeral services will be held Friday at 2 pm at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Bridgeport Memorial Cemetery with Rev. R.S. Lederman, pastor of the Emmanuel Evangelical UB Church of Bridgeport, officiating. The body is at the funeral home.
