SUDDEN DEATH\emdash It is with feelings of sorrow that we have this week to record the death of Mr. Benjamin Rudy, a highly respected farmer in this neighborhood, which sad event took place suddenly took place suddenly and unexpected at his home near here early on Wednesday morning of last week. Mr. Rudy had been in his usual health the day before, and that night went to bed with the intention of getting up very early next morning to continue his seeding operations. Towards four o'clock next morning his wife was awakened by his heavy irregular breathing, and striking a light she found him in a dying condition. She did all in her power to make him comfortable but he died in less than ten minutes after she was up.

Dear reader here is a case for reflection. A strong man yet in the prime of life apparently in the best of health, certainly in the best of spirits, plans out his work for the morrow, retires early, sleeps soundly until within half an hour before the time of rising when he is suddenly summoned before a higher tribunal, and a few broken and unintelligible sentences in answer to the anxious inquiries of his wife, a few convulsions in mortal agony and all is over and this in less than a quarter of an hour and before any of his children who sleep under the same roof could be called to his beside.
