    Jeannette Spies. wife of Andrew. Foerster, of our village died last Friday after a protracted illness, through which she was faithfully nursed by her daughter Rosa. She was 74 years old and leaves her aged life partner and the following children; Geoge. Mrs Jacob Rank and Mrs. Wettlaufer living in Tavistock: Louis in Ayton: Mrs. Louis Rank of Bamberg: Edward of Conestogo; Valentine. of Hawkesville; William, of Waterloo: Mrs. Jacob Ziegler, Mrs. Wm. Hass and Mrs. Wm. Hackbart, all of this neighborhood, and Rosa at home. Her remains were interred in the Lutheran cemetery, on Tuesday.

    HEIDELBERG.

    Obituary - Death claimed another resident of this community Friday evening in the person ef Mrs. Antrew Foerster, Deceased was in her 75th year. The remains were interred in the Lutberen cemetery on Tuesday afternoon in presence of a large number of relatives. The deceased leaves an aged husband and five sons and seven daughters to whom we extend our sympathy

    Notes:

    The sad message of the death of Mrs. Veitel came to us on Thursday last. Deceased was for many years a resident of Heidelberg, but for the last few years she lived a quiet life with her daughter, Mrs. Henry Ziegler, at Waterloo. The funeral took place on Sunday, the remains being brought to Heidelberg for interment and service. We extend our deepest sympathy to the mourners in their bereavement. Mrs. Veitel was about 74 years old.

    LUDWIG FOERSTER

    Another of the old pioneers of Waterloo county has passed away in the person of Mr. Ludwig Foerster, who died on the 23rd inst., at the home of Andrew Foerster, his son, who lives between here and St. Clements. Deceased was born in Baden, Germany, and came to Canada in 1835. He settled in Wellesley township when it was yet a "howling wilderness", and hewed out for himself a home in the woods. By dint of hard work and economy, coupled with sterling honesty, he contrived to leave to his children a fair share of this world's goods. He leaves 9 children, 63 grandchildren, and 50 great grandchildren. His remains were buried in the Lutheran cemetery, here, last Saturday. He had reached the ripe age of 90 years, 2 months and 17 days.
