    R. H. Everest

    PRESTON - Robert Henry (Harry) Everest. 235 Waterloo St., died in South Waterloo Memorial Hospital yesterday afternoon. Mr. Everest had been ill for nine years and in hospital six months. Born in York County, he lived in Port Elgin and Hamilton before he came to Preston in 1906. A heating and ventilating engineer, Mr. Everest was western Ontario representative of Sheldon's Engineering Ltd., Galt, from 1919 until he retired nine years ago. Mr. Everest was very active in Odd Fellow lodge work. He was a past deputy grand master of Royal City district; past noble grand of Cambridge Lodge, Preston; second chief patriarch. Victory Encampment and was a member of Queen Rebekah lodge. He also was a member of Preston Lodge AF and AM. a member of the Order of Samaritans, London; member of American Society of Heating and Ventilating Engineers and of the Professional Engineers of Ontario. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church. During the First World War, Mr. Everest served overseas from 1916 to 1918 with the 111th Battalion. He was a member of the 111th Battalion Association, Survivors include his wife. Libbie Dutcher; a son, Robert Elwood Everest. Sherman Oaks. Calif.: two daughters. Mrs. Bert (Olivia) Steel, Windsor; Mrs. Carl (Edtih) Lovegrove, Galt. Also three brothers, Arthur, Spencer and Harold, all of Scarboro Bluffs, near Toronto. There are five grandchildren. The body will rest at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home until Monday, when a public service will be held at 2: 30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery. Rev. H. J. Herlihey will officiate.

    Mrs. Olivia Everest

    PRESTON— Mrs. Olivia Everest, a Preston resident over 50 years, died at the Coutts Pavilion, Kitchener, Thursday. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church, Preston, for over 50 years an for the last two years she was a member of Lincoln avenue United Church, Galt. She was also a member of Queen Rebekah Lodge, Preston. Her husband, R. H. (Harry) Everest, died three years ago. Surviving are one son, R. E. Everest, California., and two daughters, Mrs. Bert (Olivia) Steel, Windsor, and Mrs. Carl (Edith) Lovegrove, Galt, five grandchildren. The body is at the H. K. Stager Funeral Home where service will he conducted Saturday at 2: 30 p.m. Burial will follow at Preston Cemetery. Rev. H. J. Herlihey of St, Paul's United Church, Preston, and Rev. Arthur Lewis of Lincoln avenue United Church, Galt, will officiate.
