    Israel Brubacher, of Mine Centre, ON, passed into eternal rest on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the age of 75 years, five months and one day. He was born on May 19, 1937 in Wellesley Township, ON to John and Lovina (Martin) Brubacher. On June 16, 1959 he was united in marriage to Lovina Martin of West Montrose, ON. They enjoyed over 53 years together. In 1975 they moved with their family to the Rainy River District, ON, where they farmed near Stratton. In 1985 they moved to Mine Centre, ON, where he resided until his death. He is survived by his beloved wife Lovina, of Mine Centre, ON, and six children: Mervin and (Selina) of Barwick, ON; Marie of Barwick; Shirly of Mine Centre; Willis of Mine Centre, Clare and (Charlene) of Emo, ON, and Marilyn of Mine Centre, as well as eleven grandchildren: Marlene, Philip, Galen, Lauretta, Kathryn, Joanne, Nathan, Joseph, Vincent, Taimi, and Sean. He is survived by four brothers: Isaac and (Leona) of Linwood, ON; Henry and (Sarah) of Linwood, ON; Clarence and (Elmeda) of Wallenstein, ON; Emanuel and (Velina) of Hawkesville, ON, as well as one sister, Elizabeth, of Floradale, ON. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Lovina; one sister, Susannah, who died in her youth as a result of a traffic accident. Israel was a member of the Mine Centre Mennonite church. He enjoyed the fellowship of his church family, as well as the friendship of people in many communities he had opportunity to learn to know over the years. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the Northridge Funeral Home, Emo, Ont from 2-4 p.m.; followed by visitation from 6-8 p.m. at the Pineview Mennonite Church, Barwick, Ont. The funeral service will be held at the Barwick Community Hall, Barwick, Ont, on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at 1:00 PM with interment at the Pineview Mennonite Cemetery.

    On Thursday, April 1, 1976, at his home, Route 3, Wallenstein, age 66 years.

    Husband of Lovina Martin; father of Israel, Route 1, Stratton, Isaac and Henry of Route 1, Wallenstein, Clarence of Route 3, Wallenstein, Emanuel, at home, Elizabeth of Route 3, Wallenstein; brother of Amos of Hawkesville, Tilman of Route 3, Wallenstein, Mrs. Anson Bauman of Route 1, St. Clements, 15 grandchildren also survive. One daughter, one sister, two brothers predeceased him.

    Friends called at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until Saturday noon when removal was made to his home for funeral service on Monday, at 9 am. Removal was then made to South Peel Mennonite Meeting House for further service and burial in the adjoining cemetery.

    AMOS BRUBACHER

    Amos Brubacher, 74, of RR 3, Wallenstein, died suddenly New Year's Day. Born in Woolwich Township, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Moses Brubacher.

    Surviving are his wife, the former Susannah Horst; three sons, John and Amos, both of RR 3, Wallenstein, and Tilman at home; and two daughters, Mrs. Anson (Adina) Bauman of RR 1, Bamberg, and Mrs. Joseph (Katie) Metzger of RR 1, St. Jacobs. There are 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are six brothers and two sisters. Two sons and one daughter predeceased him.

    The body is at the home where the funeral will be conducted Friday at 9 a.m. Service at South Peel Mennonite Meeting House will be followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

    Mrs. Amos Brubacher, RR 3, Wallenstein, died Feb. 9 at the Martin Rest Home Elmira, after a lengthy illness. She was 86.

    Mrs. Brubacher, the former Susannah Horst, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tilman Horst, was born Oct. 17, 1881 in Woolwich Township.

    Her husband predeceased her in 1957.

    Surviving are three sons, John and Tilman, both of RR 3, Wllenstein and Amos of Hawkesville; one daughter, Mrs. Anson (Adina) Bauman, RR 1, Bamberg; two sisters, Mrs. Jonas (Hettie) Bauman, and Lydia Horst, both of RR 2, Elmira; 11 grandchildren, She was predeceased by two sons and one daughter.

    A family service was held Feb. 13 followed by service at South Peel Mennonite Meeting House and burial in the adjoining cemetery,

    AMOS A. MARTIN

    On Tuesday, Oct. 33nd, there died at the Guelph Hospital, Amos A. Martin, a highly respected farmer who lived between Wallenstein and Hawkesville, at the age of 44 years and one month. Deceased had been suffering for some time with intestinal trouble which proved to be of a cancerous nature, and for the relief of which two operations were performed without success. He leaves a widow, four sons and four daughters, and a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn their loss.

    MRS. ELIZABETH MARTIN

    Mrs. Elizabeth Martin, 76, died at the home of her daughter and son- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Wideman of R.R. 1, Waterloo, Monday. She was born April 12, 1877, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Brubacher.

    Surviving are four sons, David and Daniel of R.R. 3, Waterloo, Amos and Ezra of R.R. 1, Waterloo; three daughters, Mrs. John (Lovina) Brubacher and Mrs. Josiah (Rebecca) Martin of R.R. 3, Wallenstein, and Mrs. Ezra (Betsy) Wideman; one sister, Mrs. Simon Martin of R.R. 4, Elmira. There are 32 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her husband, Amos A., predeceased her in 1918. A daughter also died before her.

    The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, until Wed- nesday at 10:30 a.m. when removel was made to the Wideman home for service at 8:30 a.m. Friday, followed by a service at South Peel Mennon- ite Meeting House. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.

    "believe that Moses B Brubacher was the child of Susannah Brubacher and an unknown father (presumably named Jacob). In 1857 Susannah was 20 years old and unmarried. Unfortunately no other record seems to exist to prove this connection (likely because of the illegitimacy of Moses' birth) although in 1851 a Jacob Simon was living close to the Brubachers and was 3 years younger than Susannah."

    Horst.-Tilman, the last one of a family of 7 children born to David and Magdalena (Martin) Horst, was born in Waterloo Co., Ont., Dec. 9, 1859; died March 2, 1936; aged 76 y. 2 m. 22 d. He was united in marriage to Hettie Lichty. To this union were born 2 sons and 3 daughters. His wife answered death's call June 12, 1922. He was a member of the St. Jacobs Mennonite Church and showed a living testimony of faith in Christ Jesus. Those left to mourn his departure are his children-Susanna (Mrs. Amos Brubacher), Lydiann, Levi. John, Hettie (wife of the late Jonas Bauman); also 19 grandchildren and many relatives and friends. He was failing fast the last few months and on Monday, while walking to the dinner table, the spirit took its flight. Funeral services were held March 5, at the St. Jacobs Mennonite Church conducted by Urias Martin and O. D. Snider. Interment in the Conestoga Cemetery.

    Horst.--Hettie (Lichty) Horst, wife of Tilman Horst, was born in Waterloo Co., Ont., July 3, 1859; died June 12, 1922; aged 62 y. 11 m. 9 d. She suffered much but bore it patiently. She was a member of the Mennonite Church for many years, being faithful to the end. She is survived by her husband two brothers and the following children: Susanna (Mrs. Amos Brubacher) Lydia Ann, Levi, John, and Hettie (Mrs. John Bauman). Funeral services were held June 15 in Conestoga Mennonite church conducted by Ezra Martin and Urias Martin. Text, Phil. 1: 21-23. Interment in the adjoining cemetery.

On August 12th, 1876, he was ordained to the ministry of the Mennonite body at the Conestogo Meeting House by Bishop Abraham Martin. He is a good man and a sincere worker for the Lord's cause and is highly esteemed by his congregation. He is married to Elizabeth, daughter of Louis and Barbara (Wanner) Beeshy.
