    KATHERINE ELLIOTT (nee Hall) 1916 - 2007 Katherine passed away, suddenly, at her home in Kitchener, on Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at the age of 91. Predeceased by her beloved husband, James McGinnis Elliott in 1996; her parents, James and Martha (Pneuman) Hall and her grandson, Randy Scott Torek. Dearly loved mother of Judy (Phillip) Torek of Brantford, James (Lyn) Elliott of Freelton and Marty Elliott of Kitchener. Cherished grandmother of Phillip Torek (Debbie), Michael Torek, Billy Torek, Jennifer (Paul) Diefenbaker and great-grandmother of Abbey Rae Torek and Cody James Torek. Greatly loved by many nieces and nephews. Katherine is sadly missed by her special companion, Bunny the pug. To celebrate Katherine's life, a memorial service will be held in the chapel of the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King Street South in Waterloo, on Friday, December 7, 2007 at 11 a.m. Cremation has taken place. Interment will be made in Ayr Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the K-W Humane Society by contacting the funeral home at 519-745-8445 or www.erbgood.com

    Mrs. James MacKenzie Hall

    The death occurred this (Wed.) morning in K-W Hospital of Mrs. James MacKenzie Hall in her 91st year, a former well-known resident of the upper 10th concession of Blenheim. The former Martha Pneuman, she was born in Pennsylvania. Following her marriage, she lived for many years on the 10th concession, a short distance west of the Drumbo-Washington Road. Upon the death of her husband in 1925, she moved to Brantford with her daughter, where she resided until a few years ago when she went with her daughter to reside near Waterloo. She is survived only by her daughter, Mrs. James Elliott (Katherine) of RR 2. Waterloo. Funeral service will be held on Friday at 2.30 p.m. at the R. W. Rumble Funeral Home, Princeton, with temporary entombment in Princeton mausoleum. Burial will be made later in Ayr Cemetery.

    Passing of a Blenheim Pioneer - In the death of James Hall, which event took place at his resident, Blenheim, on April 12, that township loses another of its pioneers and the last in that section. The deceased, who was in his 77th year, spent about 50 years on the farm on which he died and made of it an ideal home. He was widely known and highly respected, being a prominent member of the Presbyterian Church at Drumbo. His wife predeceased him some years. The member of the family surviving are McKenzie, Robert, Elizabeth and Agnes on the homestead, John at Plattsville and Mrs. John Brown of Ayr. Interment was made in the Ayr cemetery on Good Friday, the remains being followed to their last resting place by a large circle of friends. The services at the grave were conducted by Rev. Dr. Thomson.
