    TILT, Marie (Feldpusch) Marie Tilt died peacefully at home in Doon, on Sunday, January 30, 2011 in her 100th year with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late John Tilt (2008). Lovingly remembered by her children Charles (Nancy), Bill (Nancy) and Margaret (Ed Schnurr); and many nieces and nephews. Dear grandmother of Michael (Kari), Leanne (Mark), Andrew (Lynette), Daniel, Whitney and Margaret; great-grandmother of Stanley. Survived by her niece, Cledas Elgie (Jim) and brother-in-law, Russell Tilt. Predeceased by her brother, Oscar Feldpusch (Edna); brother-in-law, George (Bessie); sisters-in-law, Sherrie (Don) Moore and Doris Tilt. Marie was born in Elmira. Her interest in people has been the focus of her life. She trained as a nurse in Stratford and Montreal and worked at various hospitals. She was one of the first X-ray technicians and a respected supervisor. In 1945 she married John, returning to her farming roots and supporting her husband faithfully in all his endeavours. Marie was a life member of the Doon Presbyterian Church Ladies Aid. She was also a life-long member of the New Dundee Women's Institute, achieving the position of District President. With a passion for history, Marie gave generously of her time and talents to Doon Heritage Crossroads and volunteered for several other organizations - South Waterloo Agricultural Society, Freeport Sanitorium, Pennsylvania Folklore Society, and the Waterloo Historical Society. Marie was recognized as a Woman of Achievement by the Zonta Club of Kitchener-Waterloo in 1988. Marie was a constant in her family's life - always there, caring, quiet and strong, with a helping hand, listening ear, sustaining meal and solid devotion. Marie and John's legacy lives on in their family. Visitation will be at the Henry Walser Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 1st from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and at the Doon Presbyterian Church on Wednesday February 2nd from 10-11 a.m., followed by funeral service at 11 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Doon Presbyterian Church or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.     Notes:

    A resident of Elmira and vicinity for 60 years, Herman Feldpusch, died at his home, 33 Queen St., last Friday at the age of 86 years after a lengthy illness.

    Mr. Feldpusch was married March 28, 1900, to Rachael Eisenbach who survives with one son, Oscar of Elmira; one daughter, Mrs. John (Marie) Tilt, Doon; and two grandchildren.

    The funeral was held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Dreisinger Funeral Chapel, followed by service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Rev. F. Malinsky, officiated. Interment was made in the Elmira Cemeetery.

    MRS. RACHEL FELDPUSCH

    Mrs. Rachel Feldpusch, 90, formerly of Elmira, died Wednesday, July 6, 1960, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Tilt of Doon, due to failing health.

    Born July 21, 1869, in Woolwich Township, daughter of the late George Eisenbach and Katherine Schneider, she came to Elmira 25 years ago. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Elmira, and the Ladies Aid.

    She was predeceased by her husband, Herman Feldpusch, whom she married March 28, 1900, in Elmira. Surviving are one son, Oscar of Elmira; one daughter, Mrs. John (Marie) Tilt of Doon; two brothers, Henry of Elmira and Jacob of Brantford; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Morrison of Elmira; four grand-children and two great-grandchildren.

    The body was at the Keffer Funeral Home until removal was made to the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira. The service was conducted in the parlor chapel Saturday at 2:30 p.m. by Rev. Frank Malinsky. Burial was in Elmira Union Cemetery.

    Well Known Farmer of Woolwich Passes Away.

    Last Thursday morning death called away Mr. George Eisenbach, a prosperous farmer, whose home was on the Hilborn farm just south east of the corporation of Elmira, but who was, at the time, visiting his daughter, Mrs. Herman Feldpusch. a mile or two way. Deceased has been confined to the house since harvest time when he had sustained an injury by falling off a waggon in his barn, but had almost recovered and was supposed to be in his usual state of good health, until 6 o'clock, Thursday, when he succumbed suddenly to heart failure. He was a native of Schwartz Kreis, Hessen, Darmstadt, Germany, where he was born in 1836. and imigrated to America in 1857. In 1865 he was. married to Catherine Schneider who survives him and with whom he had eight childrens sons and daughters all of whom are living in this neighborhood, Deccased was a highly respected citizen of this township provident and kind husband and father who will be greatly missed. The funeral took place last Monday afternoou, Rev. Graupner of St. Pauls Lutheran church, of which deceased was a member; officiating.

    The death of Mrs. George Eisenbach occurred at the home of her daughters Mrs. Herman Feldpusch yesterday morning after an illness lasting since February. She was seventy-seven years of age, and was born in Germany, coming to this country as a young girl. She settled in Woolwich township and has resided here almost continuously ever since.

    Her maiden name was Catherine Schneider. After her marriage with Mr. George Eisenbach she settled on his farm in Woolwich, and except for one year in the United States, she had lived in this locality ever since. Her husband predeceased her thirteen years ago.

    She leaves eight children, five sons and three daughters. The sons are Conrad of Woolwich, George of Woolwich, on the old farmstead, Henry, of Elmira, William of Brantford, and Jacob of Elmira. The daughters are Rachel (Mrs. Herman Feldpusch) of Woolwich, Maggie, (Mrs. Morrison), Elmira, and Miss Clara of Woolwich.

    The funeral will be held on Saturday afternoon from the home of Mr. Jacob Eisenbach, Dunke street, to St. Pauls church and thence to the Elmira Union Cemetery.
