    Notes:

    Eva Elliott was one of the founders of the Women's Institute for South Waterloo, being appointed secretary-treasurer when the group was formed in 1903.

    Born in Clinton, of Scottish-Irish parents, before her marriage she was engaged in newspaper work with the Galt Reformer.
    Elliott arranged for speakers sent out by the Department of Agriculture to hold meetings with rural and urban women. She was always present, enrolled members, and became a most valuable source of information and guidance.

    Elliott served as president of the Central Dumfries branch of the South Waterloo District and also of the London area. She was an excellent singer, held offices in Knox's Presbyterian Church, Galt, started the Young Women's Association which later became the YWCA and for forty years was a director of the South Waterloo Agricultural Society. She also helped create and support a Country Women's Rest Room in Galt.

    MRS. J. A. CROLL DIED IN GALT IN 80TH YEAR

    Mr. and Mrs. J. Wheeler Green of this city attended the funeral of the latter's mother. Mrs. J. A. Croll, who passed away in Galt on Thursday afternoon, which took place in that city on Saturday afternoon at Mount View cemetery. The four sons-in-law and two nephews acted as pall-bearers Mrs. Croll, who was nearly 80 years of age, was the daughter of the late Francis Stephen Carroll, of Dublin, Ireland. She came to this country with an elder brother about 60 years ago, and was married in St. James Presbyterian Church, Hamilton. She had been living in Galt for the past eight years.

    She is survived by her husband, one son and four daughters as follows: John A. Croll, B. A. of Buffalo, N. Y.; Mrs. Wesley Fletcher, Mrs. Thos. Keachie, Mrs. Wm. Elliott, of Galt, and Mrs. J. Wheeler Green, of Kitchener Fourteen grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
