    ELMIRA, Feb. 14. - Mrs. Jacob Conrad, formerly Pricilla Strohm, died today at her home, 26 Queen street after an illness of two years. She was 57[?]. Born in Kitchener, she moved to Elmira at the age of 12. Mrs. Conrad was a member of St. James' Lutheran church and an active member of the Ladies' Aid and Women's Missionary Society. She was a former Sunday school teacher as well as a former member of the choir.

    Surviving are her husband, three sisters, Mrs. Ed Schierholtz and Mrs. Gordon Yun[?], both of Kitchener and Mrs. Orrie Hollinger of Elmira, two brothers, Clarence Strohm of Maidstone and Cecil Heipel of Elmira.

    The funeral will be held Monday afternoon with a short service at her residence followed by service at St. James' Lutheran church at 2:30. Interment will be in St. James' cemetery. Rev. L.H. Kalbfleisch will officiate. Remains will rest at Dreisinger's Funeral Chapel until Sunday morning.

    Mrs. Henry Heipel
    Death came suddenly on Monday to a well-known Elmira resident, Mrs. Elizabeth Heipel, widow of Henry Heipel, in her 67th year. Although she had been in failing health for the last few months, Mrs. Heipel was able to be about as usual. On Monday, she complained of not feeling well, and at 9.15 p.m. she succumbed to a heart attack.
    Born in Woolwich Township in the Jerusalem section, she was a daughter of the late Jacob Peppler and Catherine Kuhl. Her early years were spent on the farm occupied by Mr. George E. Miller near West Montrose, and she attended school in West Montrose. She was married in 1882 to Jeremiah Strohm, and they lived for a number of years in Kitchener, later moving to Elmira. From this marriage, five children were born, four of whom survive They are: Mrs. Jacob Conrad, Elmira; Mrs. E. G. Schierholtz, Kitchener; Mrs. Orrie Hollinger, Elmira and Clarence ?? One son, Amsey, died in 1923. Mr. Strohm predeceased her 34 years ago.
    In 1898, she married Henry Heipel of Elmira, and two children survive from this union. They are: Mrs. Gordon Yundt, Elmira and Cecil Heipel, at home. A stepson, John Heipel resides in Winnipeg. Mr. Heipel passed away about two years ago. Six grandchildren also survive and three sisters; Mrs. George S. Miller, West Montrose, Mrs. David Lichty, Conestogo and Mrs. Irvin Beisel, Elmira.
    The funeral was held today (Thursday) from her late residence, 89 King street to St. James's Lutheran church of which she was a devoted member. Rev. L. Kalbfleisch ducted the services. Interment was made in St. James's cemetery, the pallbearers being Louis Schroer, Henry Schmidt, John C. Allemang, Anthony Kennedy, Henry Ahrens and John Oppertshauser.

    AGED WOOLWICH PIONEER DIES LIVED IN THIS DISTRICT ALL HIS LIFE - DIES AT HOME OF DAUGHTER

    Another of the old pioneers of this district was laid to rest on Sunday afternoon in the person of Jacob S. Peppler, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E.S. Beisel, last Thursday evening after only about a week's illness. Deceased was born in Woolwich and lived all his life, nearly 86 years, in Woolwich and Elmira. In 1861 he was married to Catharine Kuhl and for many years they lived on the farm now owned by his son-in-law, Mr. George S. Miller, near West Montrose.

    Later they lived in Elmira for about 18 years. Then when the infirmities of advancing age began to make themselves felt, they went to live with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. E.S. Beisel, just west of Elmira, where Mrs. Peppler died about six years ago.

    Of the five children, one died in infancy. The remaining ones are: Elizabeth (Mrs. Henry Heipel), Catharine (Mrs. George S Miller), Mary Ann (Mrs. David Lichty), and Ida (Mrs. Ervin Beisel), all of this neighborhood. Thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive. There are also living, of a large family, two brothers and three sisters, namely, Charles Peppler in the West, Henry Peppler, Hanover, Annie (Mrs. Menno Strohm) and Minnie (Mrs. Wm. Oswald), both of Kitchener, and Louisa (Mrs. Martin Brubacher) of Woolwich.

    The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon and was attended by a large number of old neighbors and friends. Besides many relatives from Kitchener, Waterloo, Heidelberg and Linwood, the following were present from a distance: Mr. Clarence Strohm, of Detroit; Mr. Henry Peppler and sons Milton and Norman also Mrs. Norman Peppler, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Hahn and son Harold.

    John Strome, "the youngest and only son of Christian and Mary (Rutt) Strome, was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, February 12th, 1810. On March 31st, 1831, he was married to Nancy, the youngest daughter of Jacob and Polly (Detweiler) Rosenberger. She was born May 7th, 1812. After their marriage they resided on the old "Strome Homestead," near Fisher's Mills, where he died August 19th, 1865. Old Mrs. John Strome is still living and quite smart for a woman of so great an age. At present she has her home with her son, Abram. Their family consisted of twelve children"

    Died at Berlin, July 13th, at the residence of her son, Mr. Abram R. Strome, Mrs. John R Strome, aged 91 years, 3 months. Of a family of twelve children, the following survive: - Henry R. and Abram R. of Berlin; David of Elmira; Aaron of Floradale; Isaiah of Brandon, Man.; Amos of Minnesota; Elijah of California, and Mrs. Geo. Diebel of Waterloo. The deceased was a member of the Evangelical church. The funeral takes place to-day (Thursday) at 1 p.m., from the residence of Abram R. Strome, corner Weber and Cedar streets, to Roseville cemetery.

    DEATH OF Mrs. J. H. STROME.

    The death of Mrs. J.R. Strome, (Nancy Rosenburger) took place on Monday afternoon, at the home of her son, Abram R., corner of Weber and Cedar streets, at the advanced age of 91 years. She has been for about twelve years living in Berlin. Her husband predeceased her over a quarter of a century ago. Diebel of Waterloo. The deceased was a member of the Evangelical Church. The funeral will take place on Thursday at 1 p. m. from the residence of Mr. Abram H. Strome, corner of Weber and Cedar streets, to Roseville cemetery.

    Christian Martin, "the second son of Peter and Anna (Zimmerman) Martin, was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, October 16th, 1797. He came to Canada with his parents in 1819, and shortly thereafter was married to Esther, daughter of Jacob and Mary (Martin) Stauffer. She was born February 7th, 1796, and died October 21st, 1851. They settled on part of lot No. 18, German Company's Tract, Woolwich Township, (Heidelberg Station is now situated on their farm). Here he died November 23rd, 1863. They had a family of thirteen children"
