    Notes:

Death of Mr. Denman - the death occurred early Tuesday morning of a well-known and highly respected resident of Ayr, in the person of Mr. Job Denman, who had attained the ripe age of nearly 79 years. Mr. Denman, who had been ill for about a week with la grippe and complications, was janitor of the Public school and was in harness on the Tuesday previous to his death. He was an Englishman by birth but had spent all his life from early boyhood in Canada, and resided for some years before coming to Ayr in Ingersoll and Woodstock. He was twice married, his first wife being Christena Mason of Woodstock to whom he was united 56 years ago, and who predeceased her husband by 27 years. Several years later Mr. Denman again entered the matrimonial state, joining hand and heart with Christena Campbell, formerly of Edinburgh, Scotland, who survives. By the first marriage there was a large family of whom two sons and four daughters, survive. They are: John and Charles of Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. John Cutherbertson and Mrs. E. Willfong of Toronto; Mrs. Albert Sachs of Berlin, and Mrs. Nicholas Adams of Santa Rosa, California. All except Mrs. Adams were home during part of their father's illness. The deceased was a member of Knox church and of the I.O.O.F. The funeral, which takes place today, will be conducted by his pastor, Rev. John Thomson and will be in charge of the Oddfellows, the deceased being one of the oldest members in Ontario, joining the order in Ingersoll in or about the year 1871. The pallbearers will be members of the I.O.O.F.
