    Frederick C. Dahms

    PRESTON, Oct 24, Frederick Charles Dahms, well-known Preston resident for 27 years, died at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, yesterday afternoon at the age of 50 years. He had been confined to hospital for six days.Mr. Dahms had been ill only a week and his death came as a distinct shock to his many friends in the community. He was born in Stratford, spent the early part of his life in that city and came to Preston from St. Marys. A veteran from the First Great War he served with the Western Ontario Regiment, enlisting from Stratford. For some years Mr. Dahms was a merchant in Preston, operating a taxi business and a car wrecking business here, while for a time before his retirement a year ago he operated a merchants delivery service. For the past year he has resided in Doon. Surviving are his wife Eva Marguerite Walker: one daughter Mrs. Roy Huether, of Galt; his mother, Mrs. Albert Dahms of Gadshill, near Stratford: three brothers, Edward Dahms, Gadshill, Charles Dahms, Milverton and William Dahms, Stratford; one sister, Mrs. William Peters of Guelph. His Father predeceased him in 1941, a brother, Albert, of Milverton in 1918, another brother, John, of Detroit in 1938. The body is resting at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held on Friday at 2: 30 followed by interment in the Preston Cemetery.

    Frederick married Eva Marguerite Walker 24 Mar 1921, London, Middlesex, Ontario, Canada. Eva was born 21 Sep 1895, Westminster Twp., Middlesex Co., Ontario; died 1983; was buried , Preston Cemetery, Cambridge, Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada. [Group Sheet]
