    Bold Robbery of Grain

    BERLIN, Nov. 15 - Detective Klipper arrested a man by the name of John Seiling, of this town, this morning on the charge of entering the barn of Mr. Wm. Foster, near Linwood, and stealing about 40 bushels of barley, fifteen bushels of peas and five bushels of wheat. he was seen about the premises during the day. At night it is alleged, he drove up and carried off the stuff to Heidelburg, and in the morning disposed of the peas at the mill, and then came on to Berlin and sold the remainder to Mr. Moffat, of the Berlin Elevator Co.

    Notes:

    Isabella was christened in the parish of Hutton Cranswick in North Yorks on the date listed above. Her parents were William and Jane Swatridge. She married George Foster on Dec 17 1852 in Gristhorpe, North Yorks. They emigrated to Ontario Canada in 1853, living first near Albion (now in Etobicoke, Ont) and later north of Toronto.

    George, Isabella and three children (Rachel Ann, William and Thomas) moved to Wellesley Township (Waterloo County) in 1860, farming the West 1/2 of Lot 6, Concession 12 west of Hawkesville. Three more children (Robert, John J & Margaret Jane) were born in Wellesley Twp.
