| Notes |
- An Afflicted Family - It falls to our lot to-day to chronicle the death of David B., fourth son of our well-known and respected townsman, Mr. David Blyth. The young man, who was in the 25th year of his age, fell a victim to consumption, under which he has suffered for many months ; and his death makes the third member of this family who has trod the path to the grave in the short space of two years from the same cause. Mr. Blyth, sr., is also himself quite unwell at the present time ; and while we know how cold and formal all words of sympathy fall in the presence of an affliction so great, we can only give utterance to them as springing from the heart of every friend and acquaintance of the family.
Mr. Blyth's funeral took place on Monday afternoon, the attendance being unusually large. In addition to citizens, the Protectives in uniform, and the members of the Canadian Order of Foresters in regalia, marched in procession to the cemetery-the latter society performing the rites of the Order at the grave.
