      Ernest H. Alteman, for 20 Years Employed at Ogden Shops, Is Dead

      The death occurred Tuesday morning at the General hospital, after a lengthy illness, of Ernest H. Alteman, of 316 Twelfth avenue west, in his 61st year. Mr. Alteman had been connected with the C.P.R. in Calgary for the past 20 years, since coming to Calgary, being employed as coach finisher at the Ogden shops. He went to Winnipeg in 1907 from the G.T.P. shops in London, Ontario, and later came to Calgary for his health.

      He is survived by his widow and by a son and daughter. His son, Edward E. Alteman, Calgary, is the president of the Associated Canadian Travelers and his daughter is Mrs. Albert Taylor, 324 Twelfth avenue west. A brother, Jack Alteman, lives in Manitoba, and a sister in New Hamburg, Ontario.

      The funeral will be conducted in Foster & Foster's funeral chapel on Saturday at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.
