- ALBERT BRICKER SNIDER
Mr. Albert Bricker Snider passed away in High River Hospital, Alberta, on Thursday November 11, 1955, after one week of illness. He was born in Hawkesville on May 23, 1868. He was married to Magdalena Israel in Elmira on April 7, 1897. He came to Alberta in 1898 where he farmed west of Aldersyde and always made his home. Before coming west Mr. Snider was engaged in water well drilling in Ontario and continued with that work along with farming till 1922. He also managed the Snider & Bricker Steam Threshing outfit till 1927. He continued farming till 1948.
Failing eyesight in recent years prevented him from keeping in as close touch with his friends as formerly, but he keenly enjoyed hearing from them on their visits.
He is survived by his wife and two sons, Harold of Blackie and Earl of Aldersyde, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren
Snodgrass Funeral Parlors had charge of arrangements. The service was conducted by Reverend Sorochan at the High River United Church and at the graveside.
Further survivors are: Jack Snider, brother of Calgary; Ed-ward Snider, brother of Spokane Washington: two sisters: Misses Addie and Elsie of Waterloo, Ont.; two brothers, Nelson of Kitchener and Alex, predeceased him several years ago.
