- DOLSON, HARVEY R.
Of R. R. #2, Hespeler, found dead early Friday morning, June 13, 1958 in Puslinch Township, in his 37th year. Death was caused from a self-inflicted wound with a 22 rifle, police stated. Mr. Dolson's body was found in his car about two and a half miles from his home, as a result of an investigation by the Guelph O. P. P. detachment and the Hespeler Police. The car was located after a search of the area. Mr. Dolson was born in Galt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Dolson. He had resided in the Hespeler district since 1945. He was a carder at Fromm Bros, in Galt and had previously been employed at Artex Woollens in Hespeler and at Preston Furniture. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the Royal Canadian Regiment from 1939 to 1945 and was a member of the Preston Legion. Mr. Dolson was an adherent of the Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Zola Hillis and six children, William, Ronald, Ricky, Darcy, Diane and Debby, all at home; four brothers, Paul of Mitchell; Don in the North West Territories; Richard with the Canadian Army in Winnipeg; Les with the Canadian Army at camp Borden; seven sisters, Barbara (Mrs. John Murza) of Hamilton; Dorothy ((Mrs. Reg. Kirby) of Kitchener; Mary Anne (Mrs. Ronald Cooper) of Galt; Pat (Mrs. Allan McDonald) of Kitchener; Joyce (Mrs. John Goetz) of Kitchener; Margaret (Mrs. Eugene Leiscaurt) of Galt; and June of Galt. Service at the Stager Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. H. G. Hindry, pastor of the Hespeler Baptist Church, on Monday at 2. Pallbearers: Thomas Todd and Sydney Harland of Ingersoll; Robert Snyder, Gene Hetherington and Albert Hinton of London, members of the Royal Canadian Regiment in which Mr. Dolson had served; and Albert Dolson of Hespeler. A guard of honour was formed at the funeral home by the Hespeler branch of the Canadian Legion. The Preston Legion branch conducted a memorial service at the funeral home on Sunday evening. Interment Hespeler Cemetery.
