    • Man Dies In Car Stuck In Snow At West Montrose

A 29-year-old West Montrose district farmer, William Stewart Bye, was found asphyxiated in his car Tuesday, February 12, after the vehicle became stuck in a lane leading to his parents' farm house.

When he was found, the car radio was still playing but the engine had stopped. Death was attributed to carbon monoxide poisoning.

Bye is reported to have driven the car through a field and then become stuck in the lane. Fumes apparently seeped through when he tried to drive the car out. The switch was still on when found. Guelph Provincial Police investigated.

He lived with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Bye, Pilkington Township, Wellington County, and was born in Elora August 6, 1922.

Besides his parents he is survived_ by a brother, Murray, Vancouver; four sisters, Mrs. Gerald McLellan, Guelph; Eleanor Frances, at home; Jean, nurse-in-training at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener; Hilda, at home.

The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor. Service was held in the chapel Saturday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. W. M. B. Metcalfe of West Montrose United Church officiating. Burial was in West Montrose Cemetery.
