    • Joseph Studer dies here today (August, 1931). Funeral Service Friday at Ten o'clock at church of St . Augustine. Joseph Studer, 81, died this morning at five o'clock, his death due to infirmities of his advanced age. Funeral sevices will beheld Friday morning at the church of St. Augustine at 10 o'clock with Reverend August Preusser officiating and burial made in Calvary cemetery.Mr. Studer was born in Ontario, CAN, in 1850, and at the age of 16 moved with his parents to Lena, IL. In the year 1872 he married Catherine Hoffer, who died in 1915. After their marriage, the couple moved to IA,where they lived until 1899, when they moved to St. Cloud, MN with their family. Mr. Studer remained here the rest of his life, and during his younger years was engaged in the real estate business. He is survived by seven children. They are E. J. Studer of Corwith, IA, G. N. Studer of Rockville, MN, J. E. Studer of Mayhew Lake, A. G. Studer of Foreston, E.M. Studer of St. Cloud , MN, L. D. Studer of St. Wendell, and Mrs. A. J. Engels, St. Cloud, MN. There are four other children now deceased, Mr.Mary Huber of Plainfield, W I, W. J. Studer of St. Cloud, MN and two who died in infancy. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Frank Immerfall of Avon, and four brothers, Gregory Studer of St. Benedict, IA, Nathian Studer of Weseley, IA, August Studer of Plover, IA and Frank Studer of Eastend, Sask., CAN. There are 57 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. The body will be taken to the home of Mrs. A. J. Engels, 216 Wilson Avenue S. E. on Thursday.

      Joseph Studer came in 1873. He is a native of Waterlooshire, Canada, where he was born July 7, 1850. His parents, Amandus and Francis (Bolinger) Studer, had a family of ten children, of whom Joseph is second in order of birth. When he was seventeen years old, he determined to exchange his home in the Dominion for one in the States, and accordingly went to Illinois, where he stayed four years, coming thence to Eldora, Iowa, and, two years later, to Franklin county, where he located in November, 1873. He was married Jan. 2, 1872, to Catharine Hoffer. They are the parents of six children : Edward, Mary, William, George, Joseph and Matilda. Mr. Studer is a democrat, and the family are communicants in the Catholic Church.
