- Mrs. James G. Stevens
At the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital, on Tuesday Jan. 4, 1972, following a brief illness, Magdalena Lichty of 29 Roslin Ave. South, Waterloo, age 78 years. A member of Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church, the Women's Missionary Association and the Silver Cross Women of Canada. A native of Wilmot Township and the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Lichty. Wife of the late James G. Stevens who predeceased her in 1970; mother of George, Kitchener; Albert and Donald of Waterloo, and Kathleen (Mrs. Vernon Hamilton), Conestogo; sister of David Lichty, Waterloo; Emerson, William, Delton and Mary (Mrs. Robert Marshall) of Kitchener, and Leah (Mrs. Earl Harper), London; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Stevens was predeceased by two sons, Lorne and Harold; a grandson, Glenn Stevens; two brothers, Christian and Louis, and a sister, Mrs. Vera Yaeck. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. West, Kitchener, until noon on Thursday when removal will be made to Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church, where Rev. James L. Reusser will conduct the service at 3 p.m. Committal service will be in Parkview Chapel with burial to follow in the family plot in Mount Hope cemetery, Waterloo. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society may be made as expressions of sympathy.
