- Samuel passed away on Sunday, aged 62 years, from a heart attack at St. Mary's Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Survived by his wife Henrietta, his two sons Gordon of Sunnyside and Signalman Lloyd Cook serving with the Canadian Army overseas, and his five daughters, Lillian Abbott (Martin) of Regina, Sask., Vera Witmer (Harry) of Blair, Hilda Cook of Sarnia, Dorothy Watt (Allen) of Hamilton, Gladys Cook at home, and seven grandchildren.
Samuel had been employed as an engineer at Cluett-Peabody for the past 17 years. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Church and the Grand Union Lodge, I.O.O.F.
His remains rested at his late residence, 135 Palmer Avenue. Arrangements entrusted to the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where his funeral service was held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Rev. G.F. Barthel of Waterloo officiated.
