  Robert Haufschild By Record Correspondent NEW HAMBURG, Feb. 24.- Robert Haufschild, 79, Peel St., died suddenly at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, today. He underwent an operation on Tuesday. Born in Pommern, Germany, he came to Canada with his parents at the age of 14 years. The family settled near Pembroke. Two years later they moved into the Muskoka Lakes district, members of the first white settlers in that district. Twenty years ago years ago Mr. Haufschild sold his timber holdings and purchased a farm on the Huron Rd., Wilmot Twp., where he resided until seven years ago when he moved to New Hamburg. His wife, who predeceased him, was the former Mary Parolin. They were the first couple married in the Rye Evangelical Church, south of North Bay. Surviving are three sons, Albert, South River; Edward, Toronto, and Milton, Kitchener; three daughters, Mrs. D. W. (Elma) Culbert of New Hamburg; Mrs. William (Esther) White, R.R. 1, New Hamburg, and Miss Ilene, New Hamburg. There are ten grandchildren. The funeral will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. from Zion Evangelical United Brethren Church. Rev. M. E. Rueber will officiate and interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.
