- Passing of Mrs. William Sudden - Died, in Ayr, on Saturday, Sept. 18th, 1920, at 8: 30 p.m., Elizabeth Sudden, beloved wife of William Sudden, in her 75th year. Deceased whose maiden name was Elizabeth Sudden, was born in the old Sudden Settlement, 2-1/2 miles west of Galt, where she settled after her marriage, moving from there to the farm on which the Galt Hospital now stands, and later to Paris Plains North, coming to Ayr about 13 years ago. Mrs. Sudden had been ill for about six weeks. She was a member of the Methodist Church, and took an active part in all church organizations. A son, Mr. Geo. Sudden, Paris, and a daughter, Mrs. Wm. Crichton, Paris, survive. The funeral took place from the residence of her husband, McDonald Street, on Tuesday afternoon, interment being made in the Ayr cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. Alfred Yeoman. The pallbearers were Messrs. Robert Easton, Geo. Anderson, Henry Guthrie, Paul Maeder, Charles Bartles and James Stenhouse. The Paris Council, of which Mr. Geo. Sudden is a member, attended the funeral in a body.
