Notes |
- My Grandmother was daughter of Caroline Bean (Dern.) Her name was Elyce McQueen. I have proof of this in an autobiography she wrote in high school if you would like to see.
From bio: "My grandfather on my mother's side, Samuel Bean was born and raised in the southern part of Canada, his parents were Pennsylvanian Dutch and French Canadian. He graduated from a Philadelphia College where he worked his way through and supported himself all at the same time and afterward taking up preaching and later becoming a doctor. He married Anna Maria Wankmiller whose parents came to America from Germany and who was born in Utica, New York. This couple was blessed with five children, three boys and two girls, my mother Caroline Dern was the eldest of the girls and next to the eldest of the children and was born in the central part of New York in Oneida County 1873."
