Notes - MEYER, Eugene (Hughie) - 1915-2006 Passed away peacefully, on Thursday, March 9, 2006, at The Westmount, surrounded by his family. Eugene (Hughie) Meyer in his 91st year was predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Audrey Meyer (nee Castrucci). Loving father of Jeanne and her husband Felix Michna of Lethbridge, Alberta, Joan Young and her friend John Lavigne of Waterloo, and Terri Boake and her husband Brian of Toronto. Dear grandfather (Papa) of Paul Michna and his wife Nina Leontowicz, Jane Michna, Chad Young and his wife Margaret, Kristin Terrebroodt and her husband Jason, Craig Young and his wife Stacey, Alexandra, Sierra and Elanne Boake and great-grandfather of Ariel Young, Julia and Robbie Young, and Landon Terrebroodt. Survived by his dear sister, Gertrude Murray and her husband Tom of Scarborough. Predeceased by his brother John Meyer and his wife Bernice. Eugene was a Veteran of the Second World War. He worked with General Electric in Guelph, in their power transformer division, for more than 40 years. He was a founding member of St. Teresa Parish of Kitchener and an active member of the Holy Name Society. Eugene's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener 749-8467, with prayers held at 3 p.m. On Monday, March 13, 2006 prayers will be offered in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father David Lewis at St. Teresa RC Church (44 Leonard St., Kitchener) at 11: 30 a.m. A reception in the church hall will follow the Funeral Mass. Interment will take place at Woodland Cemetery.
