- BAILEY, HUGH JAMES
Funeral service for Mr. Bailey, who died Sunday, April 9, 1972, at St. Joseph's Hospital, in his 77th year, was conducted Wednesday at 2 at the Wall Chapel of the Lee and Custance Funeral Home in Guelph. Born in Elderslie Township on Sept. 23, 1895, he moved to Beverley Township in 1904. Following that, he lived in Morriston for forty-two years and Guelph for ten years. A painter by trade, he operated his own business and attended St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Clark, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert G. Bailey of Galt; John W. Bailey of Guelph; and a sister, Hattie (Mrs. J. A. Wilkinson), also of Guelph. Rev. R. Forbes Thomson officiated at the service and burial was in Crown Cemetery, Puslinch. Pallbearers were all nephews, George Bailey, Keith Bailey, Jack Bailey, Donald Stewart, Bob Gray and Ian McLean.
