- Peter Burkhard, "was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, March 15th, 1780. He was married to Barbara Guth* who was born February 4th, 1777, and died May 11th, 1849. They resided in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, near what is now called "Blue Ball" until spring, 1820, when they with their family of seven children + and others, moved to Canada and settled in Waterloo County, on the old "John Lichty Farm", about one mile north of Waterloo, where they both died. He died August 1st, 1834. their family consists of eight children"
