    • BARRETT, THOMAS J.

At his father's residence, Puslinch, on Sunday morning, [3rd January 1892], aged 38 years, 2 months and 26 days, officer of the Canadian Inland Revenue Department. Son of Edward Barrett. Two years ago Mr. Barrett sustained a severe injury in jumping on a boat at Beaumaris, Muskoka, the result of which affected his heart and finally caused his death. He was accountant of the Inland Revenue office in London and was formerly stationed in Guelph. He joined the service in 1881, was a very popular officer and his death will be much lamented. In Puslinch, the place of his nativity and where he lived till he attained the age of manhood, he was widely known and universally respected on account of his manly and genial manner, his gentlemanly demeanor and uniform courtesy to all with whom he came in contact. The funeral on Tuesday the 5th at 9 from his father's residence to the Roman Catholic Cemetery at Hespeler, was very largely attended by friends from Guelph, Galt, Morriston, Puslinch and Hespeler.
