- SHANTZ, Etta (nee Shantz) 1920 - 2012 Passed away peacefully on Friday, March 16, 2012 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, at age 91. Beloved wife of the late Lloyd E. Shantz; loving mother of Murray and Carol Shantz of Conestogo, Carolyn and Howie Wideman of Breslau, Larry and Dianne Shantz of Breslau and Linda Shantz-Keresztes and Lou Keresztes of Calgary; grandmother of Brad and Sheryl Shantz, Greg and Christine Shantz, Bryan and Sherri Shantz, Rhonda and Ryan Burkholder, Troy and Cory Shantz, Brent Shantz and Leigh Anne Swayne, and Adam Keresztes; great-grandmother of Jessica, Mackenzie, Ryan, Jordan, Riley and Lukas Shantz, and Abigail, Reid, and Ethan Burkholder; dear sister of Ida Schwartzentruber and Robert Shantz; and sister-in-law of Helen Shantz (Nyal), Marie Shantz, Mabel Shantz, Helen Shantz (Ion), Erma Shantz (Ward, predeceased), and Lloyd Schwartzentruber. Predeceased by brothers, Howard, Armand, Wilfred, Nyal, Ion, Arley, and Mahlon and her sister, Esther Enns. The funeral service to celebrate Etta's life and faith will be held at Breslau Mennonite Church on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Darrel Toews officiating. Interment in Breslau Mennonite Cemetery with a reception to follow at the church.
