- Moritz, Verna B. - At St. Mary's Hospital, on Friday, June 11, 1993, after a brief illness, the former Verna Barbara Schenk, of Kitchener, age 85 years. Verna was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Queen Street, Kitchener. She was a member of the Ladies Guild, the Altar Guild, a kitchen convener, member of St. Paul's Church Quilters and the Happy Gang. Mother of Frank and his wife Ione of Waterloo, Brian and his wife Diane of Cambridge, sister of Audry Lang and Lucile Rieck, both of Kitchener; grandmother to David and his wife Shari, Murray, Jessica, Lisa and her husband George Prine and Christopher. Predeceased by her parents, George and Gertrude Schenk; her husband Karl in 1974; two brothers, Webourn and Roy and one sister, Ortha Stahle. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, from 7-9 p.m. this evening (Saturday); 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, until noon on Monday when removal will be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Queen Street South, Kitchener, where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., with Pastor Allan Scharlach officiating. Internment will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Donations to St. Mary's Hospital Building Fund may be made as expressions of sympathy.
