  McLAY, William With love and sadness we announce the death of William McLay at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener, peacefully on Saturday, February 26, 2011. Born in Bannockburn, Scotland on December 28, 1946, Will immigrated to Kitchener in 1967 and worked for Indiana Steel. He will be sadly missed by his devoted son Andrew. Will leaves behind his family in Scotland; the late Robert (Christine), the late Christine (Andrew), David (Marie), Mary (Tom), John (Isabelle), Janet (Bob) and Marjorie (Sandy). Also missing him are Gudrun (Brian), Ricki (Paul) and Suzanne (Horst). Will's caring friends also grieve for his passing; Alicia, Doris, Aida, Lisa, Rio, Melinda (Mea) and her daughter Aaliyah. He will also be missed by his other relatives and all of his many friends; Graham, Tony, Moore and Sandra. Until his unfortunate accident, Will's great love was soccer and he was a first rate player for the Kitchener Rangers and the Guelph Kossuth soccer clubs. Will's generosity knew no bounds and he always greeted his friends with a broad smile. He was always interested in life about him. The family would like to send heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses of the ICU department of the Grand River Hospital who supported and cared for Will in his final days. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Will's life will take place on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 3 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467.
