Notes |
- Mr. Pady (or Rev. Pady) is a very interesting story. It seems he would obtain children from anywhere he could and then send them to Canada -- first to Montreal and later to any place but mostly to Winnipeg. When the government of Canada found out he was declaring his son's cabin (shack was more like it!) in Manitoba as his receiving home he was ordered to stop bringing children to Canada (1895) but I believe he still brought some in 1896. I have never seen mention of any records but some information is available at NAC.
Regards..
