Notes |
- New Hamburg, May 13 - Mr. W. H. Weber, manager of the Electric Meter & Stamping Works here, was accidentally killed today. It appears that about 3.30 p.m. he had occasion to cross a short gangway from the third story over a space between two of the buildings.
A railing gave way, and the deceased was suddenly precipitated to the ground, a distance of nearly forty feet. He was instantly killed, breaking his neck and crushing his skull and ribs. He was a native of the county of Waterloo, and has been an active and successful business man both as a retailer and a manufacturer. For some years he was a partner in the felt boot works, and latterly in the metal stamping works, of which he was the managing partner and Secretary of the company. He was about forty-five years of age, a Liberal in politics, and a member of the Roman Catholic Church. He married Miss Lang of Berlin, who survives him with one child. His funeral will take place here on Friday.
