- Elaine Struke (nee Kropf) 1922 - 2004
Died peacefully, at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener, on Thursday, November 18, 2004. Loving mother of Shirley and Jim Oakley and Jim and Alicia Struke; proud grandma of Trevor and Lesley Oakley, Chris and Tara Oakley and their son Kinnon, and Cassandra Struke and fiance Steve Conrad; dear sister of Jeanne Shuh, Dolly and Bob Perrott, and Kathy and Bill Frank. Elaine was predeceased by her husband Clare and her parents Henry and Mynetta (Gies) Kropf. Elaine was an employee of the Waterloo School Board and Sunar. She enjoyed her friends at Tuesday afternoon bowling in Waterloo, and also the ELW and Friendship Circle at St. Mark's. She volunteered for many years with the Red Cross Blood Donors Clinic. Friends are invited to share their memories of Elaine with her family at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday, November 21 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Elaine's life and faith will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 825 King St. W., Kitchener on Monday, November 22, 2004 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Nancy Kelly officiating. Immediately following the service, a reception will be held in the parish hall. Interment in Memory Gardens at 2 p.m. The family appreciates the care given to Mom by Dr. Campbell and the staff of St. Mary's Hospital sixth floor, Lanark Place and Leisureworld. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or St. Mark's Lutheran Church and can be arranged through the funeral home - 745-8445 or www.edwardgood.com
