    • Joan P. Kropf 1932 - 2004
      Passed away peacefully, on Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital. Joan was 72. Beloved wife of Arthur Kropf; dear mother of Teri Gottschalk of Atlanta, Linda and Brian Griffin, Debbie and Peter Tytko and Mike and Lisa Kropf, all of Waterloo. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Lindsay and Bradley Griffin,, David and Kristina Gottschalk, Tara and Peter Tebbutt, Adam, Ashley and Kyle Kropf, Ashley Ertel, Joel and Jamie Dowsett. Sister of Jim and Jeanette Sommers, Wilbert and Theresa Sommers, Ethel and the late Don Kehn and Peggy and Russ Elmore. She was predeceased by a great-granddaughter Angel Catherine and parents Mary (Graf) and Herbert Sommers. Joan was a charter member of St. Michael's RC Church and the Catholic Women's League. For many years, she was the secretary at St. Michael's RC School. Friends are invited to share their memories of Joan with her family at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Sunday, August 1, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers will be held at the funeral home on Sunday evening at 8: 30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael's RC Church, 240 Hemlock St., Waterloo, on Monday, August 2, 2004, at 11 a.m., with Rev. John Pinsonneault and Rev. James Malone as celebrants. A reception for friends and family will follow the Mass in the Parish Hall. In memory of Joan, donations to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre or Friends of the Grand would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy and can be arranged through the funeral home at 745-8445 or www.edwardrgood.com. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Williamson and the nursing staff of Union Terrace 3W of Freeport Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Mom over the last two months. We would also like to thank Elvira Sentes and Josephine Pucher, two of Mom's closest friends for their support these past weeks.
