      Of Cambridge, on Friday, January 24, 2003, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in his 91st year. Beloved husband of the late Eila Mary Rhodey (1999) for over 50 years. Dear father of Leonard Read and Lucy Martins of RR 2, Cambridge, Karen Campbell of Brampton, Sandra MacDonald and her husband Bob of Brantford. Lovingly remembered by nine grandchildren, Holly, Stefanie, Robyn, Scott MacDonald, Jeremy and Neisha, Derek and Stacey, Timothy Read, Dustin Dawson, Gregory Edworthy and Shon Martins and five great-grandchildren, Jesse, Cody, Kurtis, Christopher and Scott. Also survived by two sisters, Olive Read of Paris and Alice Rhodey of Cambridge. Predeceased by his parents, William and Caroline Read; one step-daughter, Joyce Gehman Edworthy; two brothers, Clifford and Clarence; one sister, Fanny Mayor and brothers-in-law, William Rhody, George Rhody on December 10, 1912, in North Vassalboro, Maine, U.S.A. and had been a resident of Dickie Settlement for the past 55 years. He was a retired manager of Paris Dunbrik Brick Co. of Paris for over 30 years. He served with the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery during the Second World War, commissioned out of Brantford in 1939. The family received friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge, on Sunday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service was conducted at the funeral home on Monday, January 27, 2003, at 1: 30 p.m., with Canon David Bowyer officiating. Spring interment in Blair Cemetery, Cambridge.
