  Walter Andrew Scott Walter Andrew Scott of King Street, Preston passed away at his residence on Friday, September 24, 1982. He was in his 74th year. Born and raised in Ayr he was a son of Robert Scott and Margaret (Maggie) Kyle. He had a very colourful career. Among other things, he was with the Royal Air Force Ferry Command flying planes from Canada to Britain during World War II. For many years he worked for a gas conversion company in Portland, Maine. In addition he prospected world-wide including the United States and Northern Ontario. He recently retired. Survived by one sister Mrs. Bill (Hazel) Clements of Galt. Funeral service was held at the T. Little and Son Funeral Home, Cambridge on Tuesday, September 28th. Cremation followed. Interment in Ayr Cemetery. The Ayr News 29 Sep 1982 pg 11
