    • Death of Mrs. John Spahr

      After an illness of only a few days with pneumonia Mrs. John Spahr passed away at her home here on Sunday morning last in her 61st year. Deceased had been a highly esteemed resident of New Hamburg for the past twelve years and previous to that resided on a farm two miles west of the village. The news of her death was received with deep regret by her many friends and the sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved family in their sad loss. Her husband predeceased her about three years ago. The eldest son, John, gave his life in the war and another son Robert, met death by being run over by a train. The surviving children are William, of New Hamburg, Leslie, of New Ontario, Mrs. H. Altoffer, of Cleveland; and Mrs. T. B. Maxwell, of Kitchener. The funeral took place on Thursday afternoon to Trinity Lutheran Church for service and interment took place in Lingelbach Cemetery, Gravel Road.

      Interment took place in the Lingelbach cemetery of the late Mrs. John Spahr on Thursday last. She died in New Hamburg on Sunday, May 2nd, after an illness of only a few days with pneumonia in her 61st year. Deceased was a highly esteemed resident of New Hamburg for the past twelve years, previous to that time residing on a farm in our midst. The news of her death was received with deep regret by her many friends and the sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved family.
