      PRESTON, May 9 — for five months, Edward Hartel, an employee at Cruickston Park, Blair, for the past 43 years, died at the Galt Hospital at 9: 30 Monday night at the age of 66. Mr. Hartel was born at Centreville and had lived in this district all his life, being well known. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Preston. His wife, Katherine Wehrle, predeceased him in 1939, while a sister, Mrs. Henry Hammer, of Centreville, died in 1937. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Edward Marquardt, Preston, Miss Minnie Hertel, Mrs. George Eddington, and Miss Margaret Hertel, all of Blair; a sister, Mrs. Adam DeBrusk, Blair, and a brother, Herbert Hertel, Kitchener. Two grandchildren also survive. The remains are resting at the residence, Cruickston Park, Blair, from where the funeral will be held on Thursday with services in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Preston, at 2: 30. Interment will be in Preston Cemetery.
