  Death Follows a Ten-Day Illness Mrs. Alvin Sherk Succumbs at Home Here; Funeral Held on Wednesday Following an illness of ten days' duration. Mrs. Alvin Sherk passed away at her home in Elmira, Monday afternoon. Although she had been suffering from heart trouble for for some years, she was acutely ill only a few days, and her death was quiet unexpected by her family and friends. The late Mrs. Sherk who before her marriage was Margaret Barbara Schmetzer was born near Linwood. in Wellesley Township on February 8 1877 and there passed her early life. She was married 1903 to Alvin E. Sherk of Kitchener. They lived for about nine year at Linwood and then moved to Elmira where they have since resided, Mrs. Sherk being a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran church. She is survived by her husband and five children: Mary, Lucy, Laura and Margaret, of Elmira and George of Toronto. There are also three, brothers and three sisters, namely, Jacob, Elmira; John. Linwood; Henry, Kitchener; Mrs. W. Rolling, Alma; Mrs. John Dubrick. Kitchener, and Mrs. C. Wilker, of Linwood The funeral way held on Wednesday afternoon from her late residence on Centre street to St. Paul's Lutheran church Rev. A. Gallmeier conducted the services. Interment took place In the Union cemetery, the pallbearers being Charles Sherk, Henry Muth, Robert Simmons, C. N. Kilrick, Fred Siegner and Otter Schmidt.
