    • KIERETA, Ruth M. (nee Bean) Ruth M. Kiereta, nee Bean, age 92, of Downers Grove, Illinois. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 29, 2011 with Mrs. Kiereta Lying-In-State from 10 a.m. to time of Service at 11:30 a.m. at Lombard Mennonite Church, Lombard. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois. Mrs. Kiereta is survived by her daughter, Margaret "Meg" Kadzik of Lisle; two grandchildren, Daniel Matthew Kadzik of Lisle, and Amber Rose (Jake) Riley of Lisle; two great-grandchildren, Nikalette Riley of Lisle, and James Riley of Lisle; her sister, Hilda Helmuth of Canada; and her sister-in-law, Lillian Bean of Peterborough, Canada; and many other relatives. Mrs. Kiereta is preceded in death by her husband, Matthew A.; and her brother, Gordon Bean, who died the same day as she in Canada. Mrs. Kiereta was born in Canada and was a 1938 graduate of Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate High School. She received her Teaching Certificate in 1939 from Stratford Normal School. Mrs. Kiereta received her BA from Goshan College in Indiana in 1947. She went from Canada to China and was a Missionary in China from 1947 - 1949 when she was deported by the Communists. Mrs. Kiereta then served as a Missionary in Japan from 1949 - 1956, coming to Chicago in 1957. Mrs. Kiereta was a resident of Lombard since 1975 and was a member of the Lombard Mennonite Church. She was a retired Editorial Assistant and had worked for CCH Inc. and had worked there from 1957 - 1961 and 1977 - 1988. Memorials to Lombard Mennonite Church, 528 E.
