      Oct. 5, 1880 Philip Friedrich Peterson died in his home on Lot 19, in the 7th concession of Markham township, at age of 89 years, 4 months & 19 days. He was born in Quakenbrück, Hannover, Germany, came to America in 1795 & lived for over 58 years on the farm where he died. He was the eldest son of the Rev. Johann D. Peterson, the 1st Lutheran preacher in the townships of Markham & Vaughan. The deceased is survived by a widow, 1 son, 3 daughters & a granddaughter
