  Irvin R. Hesse A resident of Tavistock since 1960, Irvin Roy Hesse, 73, died Thursday afternoon at Avon Crest, Stratford. He has been a hospital patient since mid-February. A native of Blandford Township, he was born July 18, 1893, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hesse, and had farmed in that township for 32 years before retiring to Tavistock. While living in Blandford be was a member of the Bethel United Church, Wilmot Township. He was a member of Knox United Church, Tavistock. On Sept. 11, 1918, in South Easthope Township, he married the former Louisa Mansz, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. James (Elizabeth) Tew, Washington; Mrs. Alvin (Jean) Morris, Harrington, and Mrs. Norman (Audrey) Potter, Woodstock; a brother, Harvey, 230 Brunswick St., Stratford; three sisters, Mrs. George (Effie) Capling, Bright; Mrs. Valentine (Annie) Hofstetter, Baden, and Mrs. Albert (Viola) Pauli, New Hamburg. There are six grandchildren. The body rested at the Francis funeral home where a service was held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p. m., conducted by Rev. James Warden, minister of Knox United Church.
