    • KENNETH A. METLER, SR. 1916-2004

It is with great sadness we announce the death of Kenneth A. Metler, at St. Mary's Hospital on Wednesday, April 7, 2004, following a brief illness, in his 88th year. Beloved husband for 59 years of the late Mary Lupka (1997). Ken leaves to mourn his daughter Janet Ferrier (Brian), granddaughters Penny Laurette (Dave), -Pamela Olinski (Andrew), Charlene Schumacher, Dawn Cohen (Mark) and great-grandchildren Alex, Elliot, Matthew, Marcus, Kassidy and Ashley. Ken will be missed by his brother William (Mildred). Ken was predeceased by his only son Kenneth Jr. (1996), his parents, Alec and Margaret (Manser); his sisters, Leana and Nel Bletz and his brothers, Harold, Ed and Burt. Mr. Metler was a faithful member of Sacred Heart RC Church where he was an usher for many years and was also a member of the Holy Name Society and the Polish Legion Branch 412. He was retired from Burns Foods where he had worked for 46 years. Friends are invited to share their memories of Ken with his family at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King Street South in Waterloo, on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Rosary will be offered at the funeral home Monday evening at 8 p.m. A prayer service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon, April 18, 2004, at 1: 15 p.m. followed by procession to Sacred Heart RC Church for a Requiem Mass at 2 p.m. with Rev. Edwin Lapinski CR. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener. Following the graveside service, friends and relatives are invited back to the funeral home Reception Room for refreshments and a time to visit. In your charity, Masses for Ken and the souls in purgatory or donations to Sacred Heart Building Fund would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Have pity on me, you at least, my friends. No, not with death true love, true pity ends. Your prayers can still assist me on my way. Take pity on me, my friends, and pray.
