- Christian Hunsberger Dies At K.-W. Hospital
The death of Mr. Christian Hunsberger, a lifelong and well known resident of this district, occurred at the K.-W. Hospital on Monday at the age of 77 years, 10 months and 19 days. He was taken to the hospital last Saturday and passed away following a paralytic stroke.
The late Mr. Hunsberger was born on the homestead on the Wilmot-North Easthope townline, two miles north of New Hamburg, where he resided all his life and farmed successfully until about a year ago, when he turned over the farm to his nephew, Mr. Edward J. Hunsberger. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hunsberger.
The deceased was well and favorably known throughout this district and was a member of the Shantz Mennonite Church. He was unmarried but is survived by three sisters, Hannah, Lavina and Leah Hunsberger of Baden.
The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon from the home of his sisters in Baden, to Shantz Mennonite Church, Erb's Road, for public service, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. The funeral services which were attended by a large circle of relatives and friends were conducted by Bishop Moses H. Roth and Rev. O. Wismer.
