  SNYDER, Amos M. - Peacefully on Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at St. Mary's Hospital. Amos Snyder, in his 88th year, of Elmira. Beloved husband of Naomi (Markby) Snyder for 63 years. Dear father of David and Marie Snyder of RR 2, Elmira, Merle and Karen Snyder of Bluevale, Janet and Bruce Neeb of Stratford, Cathy and William Tkaczuk of Elmira, Jerry and Kim Snyder of RR 1, Breslau, Marion and John Meyer of Cambridge. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Ben (Kim), Steve (Kim), Kelly (Kevin), Mike, Laura (Ian), Angie (Todd), Jennifer, Mandy, Bill (Elaina), Tara (Andrew), Shawna, Stacey, Katie, Riley, Keenan, Kelsey and by his 12 great-grandchildren. Brother of Salome Harrison, Edith and Harry Pekarek, Ina and Eldon Martin, Paul and Martha Snyder, Floyd and Sylvia Snyder and brother-in-law of Irene Markby. Predeceased by his parents, Elo and Susannah (Martin) Snyder; two brothers-in-law, Leslie Harrison and Robert Markby. Amos farmed in the Bloomingdale area for many years and was a life-long member of Bloomingdale Mennonite Church. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home , Elmira on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At 9 a.m. on Friday, July 18, 2008, transfer will be made to the Bloomingdale Mennonite Church for Funeral Service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mary Mae Schwartzentruber officiating followed by interment in the Bloomingdale Mennonite Cemetery. In his memory, donations to The Bloomingdale Mennonite Church Building Fund, St. Mary's Hospital Cardiac Care Unit or Mennonite Central Committee would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.1a Waterloo Region Record 16 Jul 2008
